A View From The East

Greetings friends, after a somewhat shaky start we seem to be moving at a steadier pace now. Having just enjoyed the “After Holiday” party with several members of the Lodge and their spouses crossing the Cuyahoga River, I am looking forward to the next open event, the “Chili cook-off”.

My friends, we have a bit of a mystery to solve. Our two Tyler’s swords, one that was donated to North Olmsted Lodge #741 over 50 years ago and has served the Tyler all that time, the other, part of the set donated by Brother Keca to Barkley and St. George Lodge have been missing since the Children’s Christmas party in December. We are hoping that someone, thinking that they might be dangerous, had hid them and we have not been able to find them. If anyone has any idea where they might be at, please let me or one of the officers of the Lodge know.
March 24th is our inspection in the Master Mason degree, the degree will start at 5:30 with a dinner at the break about 6:30 and your reservation to Brother Chuck Johnson.

April is shaping up to be a great month starting with the Bake auction
on April 11th; we will begin with dinner at 6:30 followed by and exciting evening of fellowship and a “sweet Auction”. This event is open to the public and has always been an enjoyable night. Later in the month on April 21st brings us the Grand Masters reception with our districts own Most Worshipful Brother Schau.

The Masonic Service association is looking for Lodges to volunteer to visit the patients at the Veterans’ Hospital. If you wish to volunteer your time with your fellow brethren, please contact our secretary for times. Last year a few members of our Lodge participated in this event, one brother even brought his wife and children. It was an enjoyable
evening for all. If this sounds like something you would like to get involved in, contact our secretary, WB Bob Hubert or stop in on Wednesday and we will make it happen.

Looking forward to and wishing you a happy spring.

Robert J. Wakefield
Worshipful Master
