View From the East

Greetings from the East. It is hard to believe that another Annual Meeting is upon us. I was told when I was installed as Worshipful Master to take a moment at each event and take in what is happening because your year will go by fast. I heeded this wise council and I am glad that I did. In my humble opinion we have had a fantastic year, we initiated 12 new brethren and raised 14 to Master Mason. Along the way we had numerous family events and managed to raise a substantial amount of money for the Special Olympics and other charities.

Brethren, it is you that I must thank for working with me to accomplish such lofty goals over this past year. I have been saying it all year that it takes Lodge to run a lodge and your efforts of this past year has proven what can be accomplished when brethren work together. As we begin to organize for the upcoming year I ask that you keep the same hunger and determination to help Barkley continue to grow for not only the upcoming year, but for years to come. This past year has seen its share of shifting sand in some of the officer chairs however I was never short of helping hands when it came go time and I thank you for that. Your officer team has been working hard over the past year to ready themselves or whatever the lodge may ask of them. I am proud of this officer line and would trust them with the operation of my lodge at any time.

Until we see each other at the pillars,
Brad J. Smith, Worshipful Master
